the experience

I lost my dad to cancer when I was 18. It was an extremely quick diagnosis and progression. When he finally went home to be with our Lord and Savior, we were going through photos for his memorial. In doing so, I realized I hadn't had a "real" photo with my dad since I was in middle school. Because of that, I started to get back into photography, which is something my dad always loved and something he always encouraged in me while I was in middle school and high school. I started with my cousin and his girl friend's one year photos and finally took the leap to capture memories for as many people as possible since. You truly never know when the last time you are going to get to take a good photo with someone is.
